NBPA Votes to Approve 72-Game Season With December 22 Start Date

The NBA season will start on Dec. 22nd. According to The Athletic's Shams Charania and ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA Players Association has approved ownership's proposal for the 2020-21 NBA season. The proposal includes that the season starts on Dec. 22 which is just in time for the league's marquee Christmas slate of games. The schedule will be 72 games long.

NBA Teams are expected to open training camp in less than a month, on Dec. 1 which means there will be an overlap with the active portion of free agency. At this time, There has been no official start date set for free agency but the expectation is that it will come quickly after the draft. The NBA season's schedule is mostly set but a few key details are still being set.
